First of all, Happy Thanksgiving! Hope you’re all having a wonderful time of friendship, family, food and fun today. I don’t know if any of you are brave (or crazy) enough to make the mad dash to Black Friday sales, but I much prefer the online deals. Whether you’re a foodie, a wanna-be foodie, or have a foodie in your life, here are some of my favorite Black Friday deals for the gourmand in everyone.
Every year Amazon offers amazing deals on Kitchen-Aid mixers. I use my mixer at least once week, and I don’t even consider myself a baker! It’s great for whipping mashed potatoes, making cheese spreads and beating egg whites into glossy peaks. Plus I love it for our weekly pizza night! Every home chef needs at least one really good knife, and Shun knives are some of the best. I’d never bought one because they’ve always seemed WAY out of my price range. But they’re having some awesome Black Friday deals! Some are practically half off!!!
I’m torn between the utility knife and the chef’s knife. Hmmm, maybe I “need” both!

“The Art and Soul of Baking” is a must have. I know that baking is my weakest suit in the kitchen, and this book has saved me time and time again. You should see all the flour on its pages!
“The French Laundry Cookbook” is a foodie favorite. Thomas Keller is a legend in the food world and there are whole blogs devoted to cooking through this book! My friend Michael Ruhlman tells Keller’s story beautifully and the pictures will make you fell you’re right there in his kitchen.
