Okay friends, it’s time for more exciting news. You may remember that I posted a recipe for these shrimp alfredo baskets recently with my thoughts on an article about food label confusion. Well, I tweaked the recipe and submitted it to Bertolli Sauce through Foodbuzz. My menu item was one of the ones chosen and now I get to go to the Foodbuzz Blogger Festival for free!!!! I couldn’t afford to go, but now my transportation and lodging are COMPLETELY COVERED! I’m so excited, but let me back up and tell you a little bit about the recipe. My inspiration came from three different things.
1. I have wanted to cook with puff pastry for a long time.
2. I LOVE pot pie, but because making it from scratch can be very time consuming, I only have it about once a year.
3. I’m a big fan of shrimp alfredo and it’s one of my go to dishes for an easy dinner.
So, when I saw the puff pastry shells in the freezer section, it just made sense to use them. I made the recipe 3 different times to tweak and perfect it. It only takes about 30 minutes to make, and is a great dish to wow your dinner guests. Here’s the description of my menu item:
Shrimp Alfredo Baskets, the adult version of a pot pie. Succulent shrimp with the sweetness of peas and carrots, and the rich smoky flavor of mushrooms are sauteed in Bertolli olive oil then combined with Bertolli Sauce’s incredible Alfredo Sauce with Aged Parmesan, and spooned into a puff pastry shell fresh from the oven, finally drizzled with more Alfredo sauce.
Now here’s where you come in. Eight of us get to go to the Food Blogger Festival for our menu items, and of those eight, three people will get to demonstrate and serve their menu item in the Foodbuzz Tasting Pavillion. I’m totally nervous about the idea of demonstrating to a bunch of food bloggers, but it would certainly be great experience for this new path in my life. So, your part in this is to head on over to Foodbuzz and vote for my dish by clicking buzz it on my entry!
I’m so excited about the opportunities that are coming my way and so thankful to each and every one of you for helping me, supporting me and showing me love along the way!
