GO HAWKS!

As you can see, we’re a family of Seahawks fans. How can we not be with this cutie?

He has a wonderful variety of catch phrases about the Seahawks that he’s been saying since before he turned two. My personal favorite is “C’mon Boys!”. When he was 18 months, everywhere he saw the Seahawks logo he would shout, “Go Hawks!”. As you can imagine, we got a lot of smiles and cheers in return.

But back to the guacamole bacon burger dip. Because that’s what you’re really here for right?

GUACAMOLE BACON BURGER DIP

Well I love guacamole bacon burgers as much as I love the Seahawks (maybe even more, but don’t tell my son). Whenever I go to a burger restaurant, that’s the first thing I look for. Then I look at everything else, thinking I’ll try something new. But I always come back to my first burger love.

There’s just something about the creamy guacamole, salty crispy bacon, and a beefy patty topped with slices of cheddar, tomato, onion, and a sprinkling of lettuce. It’s the perfect combination of flavors and textures! Okay, perhaps I’ve thought about this a little too much.

But all that burger dreaming came to fruition when my friends at Sabra asked us to team up with them this month. As soon as they contacted me I told my husband, “I’m going to do something amazing with their guacamole!”

I thought through a few ways of deconstructing a guacamole bacon burger, and in the end, decided a big plate of guacamole bacon burger dip was the perfect option. (But I haven’t given up on the soup idea!)

Our family really loves Sabra. We go through a giant tub of their hummus each week! We also love using their guacamole when we need a recipe shortcut. It’s thick and creamy, and the taste of avocados isn’t overpowered by the other ingredients.

Right now, Sabra has a sweet Buy, Snap, Score promotion going. If you’re buying some hummus, guacamole, or chip dip for Game Day (who isn’t?), make sure it’s Sabra’s and grab a couple bags of Stacy’s chips with it. You can use your phone to upload your receipt before February 15, 2016 and they’ll send you a $5 gift card. SCORE! You can get more details at DipZone.com.

Now for the guacamole bacon burger dip recipe, I used a really lean ground beef from our whole cow that we buy each year. Grass fed beef is so packed with flavor, I just add little salt and pepper. If you’re using beef from the grocery store, you may want to add a little garlic and onion powder as well.

But skip the taco seasoning. You don’t want this to taste like that OTHER 7 layer dip recipe.

If you’re looking for a dairy free seven layer dip recipe, try this guacamole bacon burger dip without the cheese. It’s so amazing, you won’t even notice it’s missing the dairy!

And it’s SO pretty! I kind of hated eating these each time I tested the recipe. Until I started digging in, then I may have eaten enough guacamole bacon burger dip for an entire football team!

We hope you love this guacamole bacon burger dip recipe as much as we do. Even if you’re not rooting for our boys in blue, if you love guacamole and bacon, we’ll be okay.

THANKS FOR SUPPORTING EATING RICHLY EVEN WHEN YOU’RE BROKE

If you cook your bacon in the oven you can save on cooking time by having it going at the same time as your beef.  I love how these racks stack for baking, but they’re also great for cooking bacon because they are easier to clean than the ones with squares. By clicking one of these links before making a purchase on Amazon, we get a small percentage of your purchase, without it costing you anything extra! Guacamole Bacon Burger Dip Recipe

This guacamole bacon burger dip has all the flavors of your favorite burger, turned into a seven layer dip. It's the perfect football snack recipe! You can prep all the ingredients up to two days ahead, and assemble it right before the game, or make the whole thing the day before. Just make sure to keep it refrigerated until your ready to serve.

Prep Time 30 minutes
Cook Time 15 minutes
Total Time 45 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • salt and pepper
  • 6 slices of of thick cut bacon
  • 16 oz Two packages of Sabra guacamole
  • 1 cup finely grated white cheddar
  • 1 cup finely chopped romaine lettuce
  • 3 roma or small vine tomatoes, chopped
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped red onion

Instructions

  1. Cook the ground beef in a large skillet until browned, seasoning with salt and pepper. I usually add a little of each, cook it, then taste to see if it needs a little more.
  2. Cook the bacon until crispy (I actually like to cook bacon in the oven so it can cook while you cook the beef) then blot with paper towels.
  3. You can layer while the beef and bacon are still hot, or let them cool in the fridge. We prefer ours cooled.
  4. Spread the beef out on a large platter.
  5. Use a spoon to spread Sabra guacamole on top of the beef. I used one package in the photos and videos, but Eric likes two packages for a creamier dip.
  6. Sprinkle the grated cheese all over the guacamole, then the lettuce, tomatoes, and onion.
  7. Chop the bacon and sprinkle it all over the dip.
  8. If preparing a day ahead, wrap the platter tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

Nutrition Notes: The nutritional info (as always) is an approximation that can vary. The info for this recipe is for the dip made with one package of guacamole, and does not include nutritional info for chips.

Approximate cost/serving: Well first of all, we got our Sabra guacamole on sale since it's Super Bowl season! We also get our awesome beef for just $3 a pound. This came out to around $9 for us so just $1.50 per serving.

Gluten Free/Dairy Free: This is gluten free and can be easily made dairy free by omitting the cheese. It's still so good!

  1. Wow, this looks great and sounds delicious! Will have to try it.

We’re Patriots fans here, but we were cheering the Seahawks on during the playoff game, and really wanted THEM to win, instead of the arrogant Panthers!

  2. Mm, this looks delicious! I would probably double the cheese; my only dairy problem is that I’m obsessed, lol. Guac is one of my favorites, too! Thanks for the inspiration, this will be on my table this weekend!
