– 1 cup packed brown sugar – 2⁄3 cup butter – 1 small egg – 2 1⁄2 cups all-purpose flour – 1/2 teaspoon baking powder – 1 teaspoon cinnamon – 1/2 teaspoon allspice – dash of nutmeg – 2 teaspoons milk – 4 dozen Jolly Ranchers
1. Put brown sugar and butter into a large bowl. Mix well until smooth. 2. Break the egg into to a small bowl and whisk well with a fork. Mix the beaten egg into the butter and sugar. 3. Mix flour with baking powder, cinnamon, allspice, and nutmeg. 4. Sift the dry ingredients through a fine mesh strainer into the wet ingredients. 5. Add the milk then mix everything together well.
6. Place dough between parchment paper and roll out 1/4 inch thick. 7. Keep dough between parchment and chill 15 minutes.
8. Cut shapes with large and small cookie cutters.
9. Crush Jolly Ranchers by color. 10. Place crushed candies into center of cookies.
11. Bake cookies at 350F for 10-12 minutes.
Poke a hole before baking to make these stained glass cookies as Christmas ornaments!
