Oh friends. This coconut chocolate macadamia nut butter is heaven in a jar. For real! And we’re so stinking excited because not only are we in love with this recipe, but we’re also partnering with Blendtec to giveaway an incredible 725 Designer series blender plus a Twister Jar! We can’t wait to see which one of you is the lucky winner.
I’d say more, but my mouth is full of chocolaty goodness right now, so check out the video of Corban and Larkin making their batch of coconut chocolate macadamia nut butter, and then read on for more details on the recipe and the giveaway.
COCONUT CHOCOLATE MACADAMIA NUT BUTTER RECIPE
As a Hawaii girl, there are few flavor combinations that taste like home as strongly as chocolate macadamia nuts. I’ve been wanting to try creating a spreadable version for quite some time, but found that my food processor just didn’t give the consistency I wanted.
So a few months ago I was emailing back and forth with the good people of Blendtec, and when they said I’d be getting their Twister jar along with a blender, I knew this was the perfect time to start recipe testing.
After doing some daydreaming with my belly, I decided that the only way to improve on chocolate macadamia nut butter, would be to make it COCONUT chocolate macadamia nut butter!
DROOL!
I tested this recipe six different times, making sure the ingredients and quantities were just right. I tried coconut oil, coconut flakes, coconut butter, cocoa powder, salted and unsalted macadamia nuts, dark chocolate, and milk chocolate. We have truly suffered through this batch of recipe testing.
NOT!
Seriously though, it’s been a lot of testing. But once I got the recipe perfect, I knew the kids would have a blast making it to show you all just how easy it is.
Oh, I do want to point out that in the video the kids are using regular chocolate chips, but I have also tried this with dark chocolate chips and it’s a great way to make this vegan, dairy free, and paleo. It will be a little less sweet with the dark chocolate, but you can add a touch of maple syrup or honey if you’d like.
BLENDTEC TWISTER JAR REVIEW PLUS BLENDTEC DESIGNER 725 REVIEW
Now let’s talk blenders!
We are a blender loving family. We use ours almost every day, and used get a new “cheap” blender every couple of years. But these other blenders also really limited what we could make because they just didn’t have the power needed for a lot of recipes. After doing a ton of research, and testing out various blenders owned by friends and family, I knew that Blendtec was the one for us.
I reached out to them and was so excited when they offered to send me one AND provide one for a giveaway to you, our awesome readers! Then they said they’d also throw in a Twister Jar with both blenders. Say WHAT?!!!
BLENDTEC TWISTER JAR REVIEW
People. This Twister Jar is SO COOL!
I’ve used it dozens of times to make milkshakes, baby food, thick pureed soups, hummus, and (of course) coconut chocolate macadamia nut butter.
It goes right onto your Blendtec base, and has a special lid that you turn as it blends to scrape the food on the sides back into the blades so everything gets incorporated really well.
It also comes with a really cool spatula that’s perfectly shaped for the Twister Jar, and a regular Gripper Lid to use for blending things like smoothies or sauces in a single serve size.
The best part is that the Twister Jar incorporates my favorite things about Blendtec pitchers. It’s got a single blade with blunt edges that is permanently attached to the jar, which makes it really safe for kids to use, AND really easy to clean.
BLENDTEC DESIGNER 725 REVIEW
Now let’s get into the blender itself. Because it is AMAZEBALLS!
The power in the Blendtec Designer 725 is crazy! It’s like having a small car engine in a little box on your counter. You can blend anything! Which we all know thanks to the brilliant Will It Blend? marketing campaign.
I love that the 725 has six buttons that are designed for the several popular uses:Â Smoothie, Salsa, Ice Cream, Whole Juice, Hot Soup, and Clean.
Each of these buttons uses various speeds throughout the cycle to perfectly blend your food every time. I use the whole juice cycle almost every day to get my daily serving of fruits and veggies.
But there is also a cool slider bar that lets you pick exactly what speed you want and change it up while blending.
Want to make whipped cream in seconds? Just whip it on stir. Want to puree some baby food? Start on chop, and then bring it up to blend, and finally puree.
There are 100 different speeds available with the slider, letting you precisely control your blend.
And the power on level 100 is kind of mind blowing!

Coconut Chocolate Macadamia Nut Butter
This spread is a mind blowing mix of chocolate, coconut, and macadamia nut goodness. Make sure to put the ingredients into the blender jar in order so the chocolate and coconut butter begin to melt before the macadamia nuts start getting chopped. The nutrition info uses semi-sweet chocolate chips, but you can sub dark chocolate chips to make this vegan.
Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup coconut butter
- 1 cup dry roasted salted macadamia nuts
Instructions
- Place the ingredients, in order, into your Twister Jar.
- Blend at about speed 50 for 30 seconds or until the nut butter appears creamy.
- Feel free to blend less for a crunchy texture, or more to get it completely smooth.
- Keep in a jar in the refrigerator for up to six months, and let soften slightly at room temperature before spreading.
Notes
Approximate cost/serving: You can save money on this recipe by getting your macadamia nuts from a bulk bin. I did so and it ended up costing me about $4 for a batch, so about 40 censt a serving.
Vegetarian/Gluten Free: This is already gluten free, and you can use dairy free dark chocolate chips to make it vegan and paleo.
