I love a lot of things at different times; this time of year I love eggnog and hot cider, in the summer I love strawberry lemonade and cucumber juice. But something I love anytime of year is giving. Usually that means giving my time, there’s a reason we cook on a tight budget! We do tithe 10% of our income to our church and give to different charities and opportunities when we can, but we often have times we wish we could give financially but just don’t have it in the budget. That’s why I’m so excited about GiveBack.org. GiveBack was created with the idea of empowering people to create their own foundation to support charities of their choice. There are a few options to put money into your foundation, the obvious is simply making a donation with your credit card. You get a tax deduction immediately, and every penny you put in your foundation will go to the charities you choose. This is a great option if you’re trying to get some last minute donations in before the New Year for tax purposes but aren’t sure who you want to give it to.
I love that GiveBack has a shopping section! I’m not actually a big shopper but they have partnered with a lot of companies including KitchenAid, Home Depot, Kohl’s, Nordstrom and much, much more. At each of the shops you can buy what you may have been planning to buy in the store, and have a percentage of your purchase go to your foundation that can then be given to the charities you choose.
GiveBack also has sponsors who want to support charities. There are ways you can partner with them, or participate in offers, to get donations to your foundation from the various sponsors.
I been blessed by people’s generosity more times than I can count, so I’m always looking for ways to give back. All in all, GiveBack.org is a great way to make giving back a little easier.
Hmmm. Did you change the formatting of your site? It’s showing up differently this morning, either way this sounds like a fantastic organization.
