Who’s that superhero? Can it be? Yes! It is! It’s Big Brother in training!

Eric, Corban, and I are so excited to announce that we are expecting a new baby in February of 2015!
We had planned to wait a few more weeks to share the news, but as you can see, it’s a little tough to hide.
I just hit 5 weeks today, and I’m already showing like crazy! Plus I am sick, sick, sick. I’ve already had a few “lay on the couch for hours while Corban plays” days. Lemon candy, lemon water, lemonade, lemon popsicles, oh and anything with soy sauce. That’s all I want. Some days, it’s just saltines and ginger ale. How did I forget how sick I get in the beginning?
Ah well, it will get better, and I’m excited when I’m not tossing my cookies.
Perhaps it’s time to start testing pregnancy nausea remedies to post. Feel free to leave your suggestions in the comments, I’m desperate!
Congrats, Diana! So happy for you and Eric. ๐
Thank you Kelsey!
I used some OTC ginger type pill that was for moms. I don’t have the packaging anymore, I just looked I’ll try to get back to you on and CONGRATS YO!
Let me know, I’d love to try it!
Congrats, Diana! A few of my friends who had terrible morning sickness swore by the chewy candy made by Ginger People. One would even pop a couple in her mouth before sitting up when she awoke and said it did wonders.
What!? That’s awesome! Congrats!
Uh. Wait. Did this happen at my house??
Nope!
Haha, no, but we were joking about how funny it would have been if it did! Would give you a good promo line for your cottage. “Babies made here!”
That is so exciting! Congratulations!! I wish I had a great remedy to recommend but nothing has ever worked very well for me in my three pregnancies so far and I tried several things! Staying away from the foods that made me nauseous and sucking on peppermint hard candies or lemon head candies got me through, and having lemon or lime popsicles on hand and sugar cereal (which I neer eat outside of pregnancy!) also helped. Hang in there, it will get better and you already know it’s soooo worth it!
Thanks Sarah, yeah lemon drops seem to really be helping right now. And lemon popsicles are great!
I have never been pregnant, but the medication I’m on makes me wicked nauseous at times. I SWEAR by candied ginger (that I buy at our local health food store.) Something about the sweetness and ginger helps me out, and the slight bitter taste makes me drink plenty of water.
Hi! I’m a friend of Eric’s from high school. I SWEAR by sea-bands! You can pick them up at wal-greens. They actually allowed me to feel hunger instead of nausea ๐ Good luck!!
Thanks Brittany!
Great idea Brittany! I used to eat ginger for sea sickness when I danced on a cruise ship. Will give that a try.
DIANA DEAR,
JUST WONDERING IF YOUR BEDROOM IS UPSTAIRS? OURS WAS IN 1954 WHEN OUR FIRST PREGNANCY OCCURRED. DOC ASKED ME THAT QUESTION AND WHEN THE ANSWER WAS ‘YES’, HE ADVISED ME TO COME DOWN THE STAIRS
SLOWLY (CHANGE OF ALTITUDE?) AND KNOW WHAT? NO MORE MORNING NAUSEA…. JUST IN CASE THIS MIGHT HELP, SWEETIE. HANG IN THERE….
Thanks Betty, we have a single story Ranch-style house.
Congrats to you three and the four-legged babies also!
I woke up every morning feeling great, thinking this would be the day I wouldn’t be sick. Then, I’d move my head and it would start. Threw up for 5 months straight. Dr. said if I lost one more pound he’d put me in the hospital. A friend told me fish sticks worked for her. They were the only thing I could keep down. 30 years later, the thought of eating fish sticks makes me want to puke.
So very happy for you guys! Congratulations. ๐
